Cheetahs sprint past Santa Ana, 47-7
The East Huntington Beach Cheetahs, a 7th-grade girls All-Net
basketball team, scored the game’s final 28 points and ran away with a
47-7 victory over Santa Ana Saturday in a National Junior Basketball
Green Conference game.
Kelly Parson scored 13 points, had five rebounds, four steals, and a
pair of assists to lead the Cheetahs, who ran their unbeaten mark to 5-0.
Allyson Weimer also scored in double figures with 12 points, and had a
team-best seven steals.
Kay-Dee Lane scored six points with six rebounds, four steals, and
three assists, D.J. Butler had six points, a game-high 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots, and Sandy Takata scored six points with four
rebounds.
East Huntington Beach will play twice Sunday, taking on Montebello at
11 a.m. at Edison High, before traveling to Troy High for a 3:15 p.m.
meeting with Fullerton.
