Boys water polo: CdM survives one, eases past the other
IRVINE/LAKE FOREST - Corona del Mar High’s boys water polo team won
its first two matches in the S&R; Sport Water Polo Cup that was played at
Heritage Park in Irvine and El Toro High Friday.
CdM first played Davis in a match that went into overtime after a 6-6
regulation finish at Heritage Park.
The Sea Kings outscored Davis, 5-1, in the overtime for an 11-7
victory.
Garrett Bowlus led CdM with five goals and Michael March had three.
Bobby Messenger, Chase Emery and Chriss Street scored one goal each and
goalie Sherwin Kim had eight saves.
The Sea Kings played their second match at El Toro where they defeated
San Clemente, 9-4.
Artie Dorr led CdM with three goals and March had two. Street, Bowlus,
Messenger and Marc Pantuliano had one goal each. Sea Kings goalies Kim
and Beau Stockstill combined for 13 saves.
CdM (7-2, 1-0 in the Pacific Coast League) will face Long Beach Wilson
today at 1:30 p.m. at Heritage Park.
