OCU Rush a 5-1 winner

Orange Coast United Rush’s Under 12 Division girls soccer club team

continued its winning ways Sunday by defeating JUSA Select 88 of Anaheim,

5-1, at Esperanza High.

OCU Rush scored first on Elyse VanLeer’s free kick, but had to settle

for a 1-1 halftime tie.

In the second half, however, it was all OCU Rush, who showed their

stamina by scoring four goals.

Courtney Anderson scored on another free kick, Cindy Mendoza scored

off a Robin Ibbetson assist, Amy Staudinger sent one into the net off a

corner kick by Anderson, and Samantha Costilla’s goal closed out the

scoring.

Goalkeeper Tori Rocke made several key saves and received strong

defensive support from Amanda Shaw, Brianna Baker, Jennifer Powell,

Brittany Koster, Sasha Key, Jaque Anderson, and Chelsea Wisdom.
