Concerned parents of middle school students in Corona del Mar continue

to meet to identify ways to make schools safer for their children.

The safe schools committee, formed by parents during the summer, will

hold a community forum at 7:30 p.m. today at the Oasis Center, 800

Marguerite Ave., Corona del Mar.

“Promoting Respect and Integrity Through Communication and Prevention

of Youth Harassment” is the title and purpose of the forum.

Parents hope to curb the severe bullying that has plagued students for

years. Also involved are school district officials, city representatives,

Chamber of Commerce officials, community leaders, youth organization

representatives and the Newport Beach Police Department.
