HB ProAm Surf Series this weekend

The Huntington Beach Pro/Am Surf Series will hold its fifth event
of the 2000 season this weekend at 9th Street in Huntington Beach.
The single rated event will feature a $1,000 first place Pro/Am prize.
Newport Beach’s Richie Colins is currently rated No. 1 in the Pro/Am
Division, with Huntington Beach’s Jeff Deffenbaugh right behind Collins
in second place.
Other current overall division leaders through the first four events
of the season are Colin Shildhaur and Chase Chidester, tied in Groms,
Brett Simpson (Boys), Brandon Guilmette (Juniors), Greg Elsele (Mens),
Mike Denicola (Masters), Liz Kampen (Womens), and Quinton Macklin
(Longboard).
The Pro/Am event will feature some of the world’s top traveling
professional surfers and local Southern California amateurs. In addition
to Collins and Jeff Deffenbaugh, some of the top performers competing at
9th St. will include Barry Deffenbaugh, Timmy Reyes, Chris Ward, Seth
Elmer, Jay Larson, Matt Archibold, Cordell Miller, Ryan Turner, Mike
Hoisington, Jeff Hurley, Adam Virs, Billy Oswald, Ryan Sakal, Mike Todd,
Micah Byrne, Duane Toole, Andy Hobson, Ben Will, Ted Navaro, and Jason
McDonald.
