NHBA Bronco: All-Star ‘B’ squad wins.

The Newport Harbor Baseball Association’s Bronco “B” All-Star Team

defeated the host St. Hedwick “B” all-stars, 6-4.

Michael Cantwell pitched three scoreless innings for Newport, before

Carmen Cimini and Derek Pinski came in relief.

Cantwell also sparked a four-run first inning with a two-run double,

scoring Ricky Nelson and Phil Martin.

Nelson and Zippy Levy also had RBIs in that big first inning.

Tyler Parker added a solo home run and and Cimini added an RBI hit for

Newport. who later knocked off St. Hedwick’s “A” all-star squad, 6-2, in

a practice game at Mariners Park.
