Best places to watch fireworks in the Newport-Mesa area

Fireworks will be launched from Newport Dunes. Here are the best places

to watch them:

* There’s nothing better than front-row seats. Prior to the fireworks

celebration, the Newport Dunes Resort will host a carnival on its

100-acre waterfront resort, where families can relax and picnic. The

fireworks start at 9 p.m.

* Newport Bay cruises are a sure bet for spectacular views and a great

way to wind down, under the stars.

* Several restaurants along Balboa Peninsula will have prime views of the
