Cardinals edge Yankees, 10-8

The Cardinals got two hits apiece from Tony Ciarelli and Nick
Becker Thursday and held on to beat the Yankees, 10-8, in Minor A Division play at Huntington Valley Little League.
Ciarelli went 2 for 2 with a double, and Becker finished with a double
and single in three at-bats.
Other keys hits for the Cardinals came from the bats of Tanner Phillips,
Adam Cutts, Sam Olive, Brian Giannone, Dylan McDiarmid, and Mike
McDougal.
The Yankees also featured some heavy hitters as Nick Soresi and Tyler
Goodman each went 3 for 3, Shay Skutvik finished 3 for 4 with an RBI, and
Terin Marlatt went 2 for 3 with a double and RBI.
In other games:
Indians 1, Rangers 0
In contrast to the high-scoring Cardinals-Yankees affair, Indians
pitchers Michael Bogard, Justin Thompson, and Karcher Morris combined
their efforts to one-hit the Rangers.
The trio allowed just two walks and struck out 10.
Rangers pitchers Jimmy Queen and Jeremy Sullivan also turned in strong
performances as the duo also gave up just one hit, a single to Andy
Patalsky. Queen and Sullivan also allowed three walks and struck out
nine.
Josh Herrera had the lone Rangers hit.
Mets 10, Marlins 0
Race Parmenter went 2 for 2 with a double, tripled, and four RBI, and
Liam McGinn doubled twice and had three RBI to power the Mets; Luke
Patrick, Adam Martinazzi, and Tony Marino each singled for the Marlins.
MINOR B DIVISION
Dodgers 12, Diamondbacks 2
Tanner Sierra went 2 for 3 to lead the Dodgers.
Cardinals 7, White Sox 5
The Cardinals’ Matt Reza led all hitters with a 3 for 4 performance.
Cubs 17, Yankees 4
Ryan Little was perfect at the plate, going 4 for 4, to pace the Cubs.
