Men’s tennis: Lions heading to Nationals

COSTA MESA - The Vanguard University men’s tennis team will head to
Lexington, Kentucky to compete in the NAIA National Tennis Tournament,
it’s sixth tourney appearance in a row.
The Lions, ranked No. 3 in the latest NAIA polls, is seeded fifth in the
24-team tournament and will receive a first-round bye. Their first match
will take place Tuesday.
During the regular season, the Lions posted a 19-2 record and won the
Golden State Athletic Conference with a perfect 8-0 record.
Leading the Lions is senior Stephan Johansson, who is the Lions’ No. 1
singles player and was recently voted as Vanguard’s Male Athlete of the
Year this spring.
