Cordero, Spirk no-hit Royals

Pitchers Jessey Cordero and Jeff Spirk combined their talents on

the mound Saturday to no-hit the Royals, setting the tone in an eventual

3-0 victory by the Marlins in Fountain Valley Little League Majors

Division play at Mile Square Park.

The duo teamed to strike out 14 batters.

Cordero and Spirk also figured in the Marlins’ offensive scheme as

Cordero finished with two singles and an RBI, and Spirk added an RBI

single.

Jordan Brown also hit two singles and had an RBI for the winners.

Cardinals 10, Yankees 5

The Cardinals erased a 5-4 Yankee lead by scoring four runs in the fourth

inning before adding two insurance runs in the fifth to seal the win.

Kyle Craft led the way for the Cardinals with an RBI single and double.

Andrew Bender had a pair of singles, Corey Ferraro had an RBI single,

Mike Maghy had two RBI, Grant Furuya and Robert Pearce each drove in a

run, and Freddie Estrada doubled to complete the Cardinals comeback.

Roger Huffman singled and doubled with two RBI, Kevin Bourbonnais singled

and doubled, David McClelland had an RBI single, and Jeff Mitchell

doubled for the Yankees.

Dodgers 5, Mariners 1

Tommy Delicce threw a complete game two hitter to lead the defense, and

Joel Stanton sparked the offense with a bases loaded triple, double, and

single, to power the Dodgers; Wes Amelung and Tim Nash each doubled for

the Mariners, and Nash also struck out eight in three innings pitched.
