IRVINE - Corona del Mar High’s Sea Kings are in both semifinals in

singles and doubles today at Irvine Racquet Club, starting at 1:30 p.m.,

following Tuesday’s run of success at the Pacific Coast League individual

tennis tournament.

In essence, it’s Corona del Mar vs. league champion University, with the

latter furnishing the competition in each match for the Sea Kings.

Brian Morton, who entered singles play with the No. 2 seed, advanced with

a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Laguna Beach’s Anton Brandt, and a 6-1, 6-2

decision over Michael Rogula, also of Laguna Beach. He’ll meet up with

Aaron Yovan of University today in the semifinal.

In the other semifinal will be Corona del Mar’s Cameron Ball and

top-seeded Jack Li of University. Ball, unseeded, advanced with a 6-0,

6-2 win over D.J. Glacy of Estancia and a 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 victory over No.

4-seeded Henry Mak of University.

In doubles, No. 1-seeded Michael Bean and Peter Kulmaticki will square

off against Ed Chiw and Scott Morgan of University and Randy Meyers and

Robert Kennedy of Corona del Mar will duel No. 2-seeded Jeff Lawrence and

Anson Hsu of University.
