JC Swimming: Two Bucs take second at OEC Championships

MISSION VIEJO - Geraldo Ferreira and Emily Joos each had a

second-place showing in the second day of the Orange Empire Conference

men’s and women’s swim championships Friday at Saddleback College.

Ferreira was runner-up to Palomar’s Travis Lansing in the 200-yard

freestyle with a 1:45.72, while Joos was second in the 50 breast (33.47)

behind Saddleback’s Caroline Staub (31.34).

Other top-five finishes for the Pirates included Steve Dugger in the

men’s 100 back (58.55) and Gina Mansfield in the women’s 50 butterfly

(28.96).

The final day of the OEC swim championships will continue today at

Saddleback.
