Mesa Del Mar homeowners got a scoop Tuesday when an Orange County Fair

officials announced who would be headlining this summer.

“The theme is Hot, Hot, Hot,” Steven Beazley, the fair’s deputy general

manager, told the homeowners association at its meeting. “So we booked a

famous Salsa star ... but not Ricky Martin.”

The exuberant crowd began shouting out guesses: Would it be Marc Anthony?

Jennifer Lopez?

“Much better,” Beazly answered. “Charo!”

And a one, and a two ...

It seems Newport-Mesa Unified School District’s newest administrator --

Monique Van Zeebroeck, who will be the principal of Newport Coast

Elementary School -- just can’t get enough of the teaching environment.

According to a longtime friend, Van Zeebroeck is into educating more than

just the mind.

“She taught aerobics for years up here [in Lancaster, Calif.] as way to

stay fit and to help other people benefit from her theory -- healthy

body, healthy mind,” said her friend.
