Softball: Mesa hangs on to beat Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH - After jumping out to a 5-0 lead, Costa Mesa High’s
softball hung on for dear life and came away with a 5-3 Pacific Coast
League win over host Laguna Beach.
The Mustangs (6-8, 3-1 in league) used six hits to post four
seventh-inning runs. The biggest shots came from Kaite Chapman and Nicole
Spungaugle, who each had two-run singles.
Kelly Daub went 3 for 4 with a run scored to help the Mustangs’ attack.
Mesa will play at Corona del Mar on April. 26 at 3:15 p.m.
