Dodgers, Angels tie one on

In a slugfest that was limited to time constraints and lasted five

innings, the Dodgers and Angels fought to an 11-11 tie Saturday in

Seaview Little League Majors Division action.

The Dodgers were led by Logan Strook with a double and single, two

singles by Tom Stadfelt, and pitchers Jayson Hayes and Mark Cassidy

combined for eight strikeouts.

Angels pitchers Nick Leone and David McLaughlin also recorded eight

strikeouts between them, Johnny Schoenberger doubled twice, Zach Duehring

and Nick Leone each doubled, and both Sean Richards and Jake Pinkham had

two singles.

In other games:

Cardinals 6, Yankees 4

John Whitt led the Cardinals offense with a pair of doubles and a single,

Nick Cappucilli doubled and also shared pitching duties with Austin

Morgan, and the pair struck out 10; Tyson Laggenbauer’s two-run home run

and single and Danny Higgins’ two singles led the Yankees, whose

pitchers, Laggenbauer and John Ward, fanned 12 Cardinals.

Reds 9, Pirates 3

Reds pitchers Cory Kindness, Valle Fluss, and Michael Sheedy combined for

11 strikeouts and the trio also starred offensively as Kindness doubled

and singled, Sheedy doubled, and Fluss had two base hits. Conner Sullivan

had two singles, and Keith Schwaneman doubled, to add to the Reds’ cause.

For the Pirates, Brandon Bisignani doubled and pitchers Nick McEachin and

Shawn Catron combined for eight strikeouts.

Pirates 8, Rockies 7

Anthony Buckley tripled and Nick Ross, Kyle Babbitt, and Shawn McEachin

all doubled for the Pirates.
