Boys golf: Tars alone atop Sea View

NEWPORT BEACH - Newport Harbor senior Kevin Olson had an eagle and

a birdie on two par-5 holes Tuesday at Big Canyon Country Club to lead

the host Sailors to a 190-205 Sea View League boys golf victory over

Woodbridge.

Olson earned medalist honors with a one-under 35, to help the Sailors,

ranked No. 6 in Orange County, top the No. 5-ranked Warriors.

Daniel Kush (37), Scott Tippett (38), Jake Allanach (38) and Mitch Johns

(42) rounded out the scorers for Harbor. Sailor alternates Miller Akins

(35) and Pete Watson (41) also played well, according to Coach Jim

Warren.

Newport (7-0, 3-0 in league), having already knocked off seventh-ranked

Irvine, is alone atop the league standings.
