Baseball: CdM products help defeat Orange Coast

COSTA MESA - It almost felt like a Corona del Mar High Alumni game

Saturday when Orange Coast College and rival Golden West played in an

Orange Empire Conference matchup.

Ty Harper, Matt Larson and Eric Wiethorn, three keys factors to the Sea

Kings 1999’s CIF Southern Section Division IV championship, played in the

contest, won by Golden West, 10-3.

Ty Harper had a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBIs, while

Matt Larson threw six strong innings to earn the win for the Rustlers

(11-6, 3-3 in conference).

Eric Wiethorn went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI sacrifice fly for the

Pirates (5-12, 0-6).

Pirates’ pitching allowed over 10 runs for the third game in a row and

sixth time in the past seven games.

Adam Anderson had two hits, including a solo home run in the first inning

for OCC.
