Fortunately for organizers of the First Paramount Pro-Am Tennis Classic,
forecasters are predicting a sunny weekend.
The event will be held at the Newport Beach Tennis Club this Friday
through Sunday. The classic will kick off with a player auction over
cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Whole teams will then face the auction
block.
The tournament will run from Saturday morning through Sunday and include
former Grand Slam titleholders Scott Davis, Rick Leach, Brian MacPhie and
Jim Grabb.
After the tournament ends Sunday, the club will throw a Super Bowl party.
Money raised from the event will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes
Foundation.
