After the lights and baubles come off the trees, the city’s refuse
collection crews will be ready to pick up the pieces.
David Niederhaus, general services director, said crews will pick up the
trees for recycling along with refuse on regularly scheduled days.
To make the recycling process easier, residents are asked to cut trees
into no longer than 4-foot pieces, tie branches in bundles with string
and place them on top of their trash bins.
Niederhaus also asks that community members remove temporary tree stands
and any metal devices and place them into the regular trash.
