Roller hockey: Blues win title

NEWPORT BEACH - The Newport-Mesa Blues roller hockey team (ages
8-9) went undefeated for the season and capped off the perfection by
winning the championship game, 5-3.
The Blues were led by team most valuable player Jacob Gilbert, who
scored two goals in the fourth period to ice the title game for the
Blues, who went 8-0 for the season.
The defense was led by Murphy Hitchcock and Benny Ward, while solid
goalkeeping was turned in by Chase Palanjian and Kyle Gladding.
Solid team play was provided by David Fabian, Robert Moglamar and Nick
Irwin and the Blues were coached by Dee Ward and Clint Sackman.
