Lightning sharp in 3-0 victory

The HB Lightning collected their ninth victory of the season
Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Region 96 (Tustin) in an AYSO girls
Division 3 (Under-14) match.
Aubrie Fuette scored two goals to pace the undefeated Lightning (Region
143), which improved to 9-0-1 overall.
A Janet Peterson goal closed out the game’s scoring, and the Lightning
also received strong performances from Jessica Abdou, Megan Ball, Shauna
Brown, Tara Fox, Jessica Goud, Tori Heglar, Gena Johnson, Caitlin
McGinnis, Ann-Mari Osgood, Hilary Pohlman, Lindsey Rodgers, and Lauren
Stimmler.

DIVISION 4 (Under-12)
HB Extreme 1, The Revolution 1
Zashya Nitzkowski scored off a perfect feed from Melissa Burnett in the
first half, but the Extreme settled for a tie with The Revolution of
Region 5. Melissa Burnett, Carolanne Coolidge, Victoria Cott, Kassi
Hewin, Tiffany Laffen, and Caroline O’Neill paved the way on offense,
while the play of Cecilia Hudson, Megan Klucken, Danielle Medina, Emily
Tims, Danielle Walker, and goalkeeper Leticia Ramirez contributed to a
strong defensive effort by the Extreme.
BOYS
DIVISION 5 (Under-10)
Slammers 2, Tsunami 1
Kyle McDonnell’s first half goal gave Tsunami a 1-0 halftime lead, but
the Slammers scored on consecutive goals by Morgan DeQuillien and Tanner
Sierra in the second half to lead a comeback victory at Peterson
Elementary School in Huntington Beach. Slammers goalie Blain Anderson
recorded 10 saves, while Tsunami goalie Brett Webber finished with six.
Hurricanes 3, Tsunami 1
Again, Tsunami jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a second half goal by
McDonnell, but the Hurricanes finished strong by closing the match with
three consecutive goals, two by Jeff Schones, at Peterson Elementary
School. Webber came up with nine saves - including two on dives - in goal
for Tsunami.
