A woman found lying unconscious on a Huntington Beach street Saturday
morning died from a skull fracture.
Bridgette Ballas, 29, of Huntington Beach, was found by police around
6:30 a.m. lying in the gutter on the 900 block of Huntington Street.
Paramedics immediately took Ballas to Western Medical Center in Santa
Ana, but she did not recover from her injuries and died on Monday night.
Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Janet Perez said the case is being treated
as a homicide.
Police say Ballas was last seen in the Downtown Huntington Beach area in
the early hours of Nov. 27.
Ballas had apparently been with friends at eating and drinking
establishments Downtown before she was found.
Perez said she was not sure when Ballas separated from her friends or
where she was headed.
Ballas lived on Indianapolis Street, about four blocks from where she was
found.
Perez added that Ballas lived by herself and worked with cosmetics out of
her home.
No witnesses have stepped forward, and although police say Ballas’
friends have been cooperative, investigators have not had any leads, Lt.
Chuck Thomas said.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Huntington
Beach Police Department at (714) 375-5066.
