Readers Respond

EDITOR’S NOTE: In the Aug. 5, we asked readers what they thought

should be done with the red foxes at Mile Square Park.

I have been playing golf at Mile Square [Park] for many years and the

foxes have never posed a problem. They stay away from people and eat

scraps of food that people litter in the area, thus helping to police the

area.

There does not appear to be a great number of them living in the park and

the few that are there provide a look at nature for everyone who

frequents the park.

Destroying them certainly is not progress, is inhuman and takes away

pleasure for many people who are interested in observing them.

They appear to be harmless to people, and they don’t seem to be

destroying pets.

I do not want the red foxes to be killed at Mile Square Park. Please

relocate them.

I also do not want the Liquid Den at 5061 Warner Ave. in Huntington Beach

to get their hard liquor license or entertainment permit. I think that

will really make the neighborhood a problem.

There are white owls nesting behind the bar in the house. I think they

should be considered.

Leave the foxes where they are. We should not have another golf course.
