Sally Scott Hess<br/>January 23, 1943 - March 14, 2014
Sally was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up with her younger sister, Cecile (CC) Scott and her parents, William and Jane Scott. The family moved west in the 1950’s to California when Sally’s father started a popular retail store called the Brat Shop in Costa Mesa. Living on Lido Island, Sally graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1961, and later from Orange Coast College in 1964. She met David Hess in Corona del Mar and later married in 1965. She is survived by her three sons, Eric, Jeffrey, and Andrew. Sally relished in being a grandmother and is survived by her granddaughters Sophie Isabella Hess and Phoebe Jane Hess, who she adored.
Entrepreneurially minded, Sally launched a successful business in 1978 called the Blessing Buttons. She designed products that reached consumers around the globe through the mid 1980’s.
In her later years, Sally suffered from a serious back injury that tested her faith, but didn’t diminish her spirit. She persevered through illness and yet was a comfort to all who met her. Sally had a special place in her heart for her faith, family, friends, and everyone who cared, prayed, and laughed with her.
