Surf’s up for surf dogs at Huntington Beach contest

Pups usually go to Huntington Dog Beach to run, play fetch and meet new friends. On Saturday, they weren’t there simply to frolic in the surf, they were there to ride it.

The 10th annual Surf City Surf Dog competition drew dogs from around the world to perform feats of balance and skill on the waves in several classes, including solo surfers and two-dog or dog-human tandems.

Entrants ranged from Chihuahuas and miniature pinschers to labradoodles and pit bulls.
