Share Our Selves serves Thanksgiving dinner fixings

Costa Mesa-based nonprofit Share Our Selves is providing Orange County residents in need with food bags this week stuffed with all the fixings for a hearty Thanksgiving meal.

Volunteers have helped with assembling donated food and dishing out the bags, which include chicken, produce, canned goods and dessert, at the SOS community health center at 1550 Superior Ave. in Costa Mesa.

All told, Share Our Selves anticipates distributing about 1,400 bags in the three days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Of those, about 400 are designed specifically for homeless people and include items that don’t require a kitchen to prepare.

Share Our Selves provides medical, dental and behavioral health services, legal aid, holiday programs and financial assistance at service centers throughout the county.
