Orange County coroner’s officials Wednesday identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a pickup in Fountain Valley a day earlier as a 49-year-old Costa Mesa man.
Authorities said Christian Swanson was walking along Warner Avenue near Euclid Street when the truck hit him. An off-duty police officer reported the incident at 5:34 a.m. Tuesday, police Sgt. Kham Vang said.
The driver of the truck, who was not identified, suffered minor injuries and was later hospitalized, according to a news release. Police said they do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
Police asked that anyone with information about the case call (714) 593-4654.
