Coroner identifies pedestrian hit and killed by a driver suspected of DUI
A 55-year-old pedestrian who died early Thursday after being struck by a driver suspected of being intoxicated has been identified as Paul Stovall, according to Orange County coroner’s officials. His city of residence was not released.
Huntington Beach police were called shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday after a BMW traveling north on Beach Boulevard struck Stovall, who was on the east side of the street, authorities said.
Police said the vehicle struck a light pole, an electrical box and a traffic signal before hitting Stovall.
He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead at 4:43 a.m.
Anastasia Hull, 34, of Lakewood was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, police said.
