Charles Harold McIntyre passed away at home August 6, 2012 after a brief illness. Born September 18, 1917 in Long Beach, California Charles spent most of his young life in Santa Ana and graduated from Santa Ana High School. He attended Stanford University and was on the boxing team, winning the Golden Gloves Championship before his graduation in 1939. He met his true love Robin Rule at Stanford. They met again in Santa Barbara after both had graduated and Charles had begun working for Republic Supply Company of California. They married in 1941. At the beginning of WW II Charles enlisted in the Navy and was selected to attend Harvard Graduate School, after which he served in the Pacific as supply officer on the ship General Mann. After the war Charles returned to Republic Supply Company and worked there for 41 years, eventually serving as its president and CEO, and then assisting in its transition to a part of Fluor Corporation.

Charles was an avid golfer and member of Big Canyon Country Club where he spent time with his “Sweet 16†golfing friends. He was pleased to have shot 2 “Holes in One†in his life, and golfed at many of the world’s finest courses. He loved his wood-carving class at Oasis and made each family member a special memento. He leaves his wife of 72 years Robin, 2 daughters Vicki (Mrs. Tom Nordquist) of Seattle; Bonnie (Mrs. Gerald McClellan) of Newport Beach; 4 grandchildren, Heather and Ryan Nordquist, Amy McClellan FitzGibbon, Scott McClellan, and 3 great-grandchildren, Paige, James, and Patrick FitzGibbon.
