Kang sworn in as Irvine mayor

IRVINE — A new city council was formed as Mayor Sukee Kang was sworn in for a second two-year term alongside other elected council members Tuesday night.

Also sworn in was Councilman Larry Agan and newcomer Jeffrey Lalloway for a four-year term, while Beth Krom was selected as mayor pro tem by a 3-2 vote. The previous council, which included outgoing Councilwoman Christina Shea, served together since December 2004.

A crowd of supporters and council members’ friends and families turned out to the public reception and swearing in ceremony at City Hall.
