Superior Court looking for grand jury applicants

Orange County Superior Court is seeking applicants for its 2011-12 grand jury.

Grand jurors investigate county issues that can change the law enforcement, political and education landscape. Jurors attend tours and briefings on how county agencies work and help residents, meanwhile assessing their potential problems.

Grand jurors must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizens and have been living in the county for at least a year. Before qualifying, each applicant is interviewed by a panel of Superior Court judges and the background check is conducted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Application forms are available online at https://www.ocgrandjury.org. They’re also available at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, 700 Civic Center Drive West. The application deadline is Jan. 14.
