Man robbed during truck sale
ANAHEIM — A man was hospitalized Thursday after a fight broke out during an apparent truck sale gone wrong.
It happened just after 2 a.m. at a gas station along State College Boulevard.
A man who had just purchased a pickup about a week ago was meeting with the former owner of the truck to discuss issues with the sale paperwork.
The former truck owner and another man allegedly beat up the victim and fled with the truck and the victim’s wallet.
Police believe the victim was struck by a blunt object. The suspects also had a gun, according to the victim.
Store clerk Arturo Martinez says the victim, who was bleeding, asked him to call 911.
The victim was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center and was expected to make a full recovery.
The truck is described as a 1994 green Chevy pickup with California license plate No. 5A79303.
