Pedestrian struck and killed by car in Huntington Beach

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle Wednesday at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Ronald Drive in Huntington Beach.

Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle Wednesday night in Huntington Beach.

The pedestrian, identified as a male transient, was struck by a car at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Ronald Drive at about 10:30 p.m., Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Joshua Page said. The pedestrian died at the scene.

Police interviewed the driver of a 2014 Toyota Prius, identified as a 19-year-old male from Huntington Beach, who had been going southbound on Beach Boulevard. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, Page said. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected.
