Gamers catch the Pokémon fever during world championships event in Anaheim

They came. They saw. They caught them all.
The 2017 Pokémon World Championships descended upon the Anaheim Convention Center from Aug.18 to 20. The three-day event attracted more than 1,000 players of the Pokémon Trading Card Game and video game. The players arrived from more than 30 different countries.
Competitors played in the presence of fans, with more than $500,000 in scholarships and prizes up for grabs.
