Blockwork Orange and Rolling Knockouts ready for a fight

Orange County is ready to throw down with its neighbors from Los Angeles and San Diego counties in a friendly competition of roller derby Saturday night in Huntington Beach.

Two teams from the OC Roller Girls league — Blockwork Orange and the Rolling Knockouts — will take on the San Fernando Valley Like OMGs and Oceanside’s Hidden City Derby Girls at The Rink, at 5555 McFadden Ave.

Admission for the event is $13 at the door. The first bout between Blockwork Orange and Like OMGs starts at 6 p.m.

OC Roller Girls spokeswoman Molly Rinkwall said the teams are playing for bragging rights and to have fun. Food trucks will be available and a live band will play during halftime.
