What’s 9 feet, 300 pounds and sweet all over? Resort at Pelican Hill builds a gingerbread village
A 9-foot-tall village of gingerbread and other sweets is here for the holidays at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast.
Head pastry chef Jeff Lehuede began assembling the 300-pound confection Monday. The annual attraction typically draws visitors from Orange County and beyond.
The gingerbread village, in the main lobby, will be the backdrop for the resort’s weekly “Kris Kringle Story Time Mingle,” in which children can gather around the display for stories with Santa Claus at 3, 4 and 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The free event begins Saturday and runs through Dec. 24.
The Resort at Pelican Hill is at 22701 S. Pelican Hill Road. For more information, call (888) 507-6427 or visit pelicanhill.com.
