Tour the gardens of homes in Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Corona del Mar

The Laguna Beach Garden Club’s 2017 “Gate & Garden Tour†will take place May 5.

The self-guided walking tour will feature nine gardens in Laguna Village, including the tour’s largest showcased garden belonging to Laguna Beach resident Joanie Rowe. The half-acre Bluebird Canyon Drive property features tropical landscaping.

The tour will offer tacos, margaritas, wine, beer and agave plants for sale, with proceeds supporting the club’s major fundraiser for scholarships, school gardens and community projects.

Tickets are $45 in advance. A limited number of $50 tickets will be available May 5 at the tour’s starting point, Arabella Laguna Historic Cottages, 506 N. Coast Hwy., Laguna Beach.

Sherman Library & Gardens hosts private tours April 22

Sherman Library & Gardens Volunteer Assn. will host a private gardens tour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 22, featuring six homes in Corona del Mar, Newport Beach and Newport Coast.

The event will include a lunch served at Sherman Gardens with music, artists and a specialty boutique. Proceeds will support the redesign and landscaping of the Sherman Gardens frontage on Pacific Coast Hwy.

Tickets are $50 to $60.

Newport Harbor High’s home and garden tour set for May 18

Homeowners and gardeners in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa will welcome guests May 18 to Newport Harbor High School’s 20th annual Home and Garden Tour.

Costa Mesa and Newport Beach homes will be open to benefit the Newport Harbor Educational Foundation, which provides funding for items and services such as computers, tutoring and Advanced Placement classes for more than 2,500 students at Newport Harbor High School.

The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with a morning reception at Balboa Bay Resort, followed by the home tour, boutique shopping, a lunch donated by Mendocino Farms at Newport Theatre Arts Center and an afternoon reception hosted by Barclay Butera Interiors.
