The Laguna Ocean Foundation is seeking volunteers for its Tidewater Docent program.
The next class training will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the new Marine Safety Headquarters just north of Laguna’s Main Beach.
“It’s amazing what you see in the tidepools,” Christopher Keane said in a news release. “As a former marine biologist and longtime coastal resident, I’ve always found joy exploring the tidepools especially along our Laguna Beach coves.
“Over time though, I took it all for granted. Now, as a tidewater educator who began his tenure as volunteer docent, I show visitors these wild and weird sea creatures, see the look of wonder in people’s eyes and rediscover my own amazement again.”
You must be at least 18 years old to qualify and should volunteer once monthly. To sign up for the program or for further information, contact Letty Skeen, Tidewater Docent coordinator, at [email protected] or call (949) 400-6032.
The Laguna Ocean Foundation is dedicated to sustainable ocean ecosystems along the Laguna Coast. For more information regarding the Foundation, check out the group’s website at LagunaOceanFoundation.org.
