Avoid construction on Alta Vista Way
Drivers may want to avoid construction that started this week on Alta Vista Way and is likely to take months.
Crews will install underground caissons to stabilize the street from 475 to 525 Alta Vista Way. A wood retaining wall that sits 10 feet from the road will remain, assistant city engineer Mark Trestik wrote in an email.
The street will be reduced to one lane from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The $1.5-million project is scheduled to be finished by the end of December.
