Man rescued after 20-foot fall onto beach
A 25-year-old Laguna Niguel man was injured after he fell about 20 feet onto Table Rock Beach in South Laguna on Thursday, Laguna Beach police said.
An Orange County Fire Authority helicopter took the man, who hit his head during the fall, to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, but his injuries do not appear life-threatening, Sgt. Tim Kleiser wrote in an email.
Police received a 911 call about 12:20 p.m. from the man’s friend saying he had fallen off a cliff near Secret Cove.
Authorities do not know what caused the man to fall, nor if alcohol or drugs were involved, Kleiser said. Laguna Beach Fire Department personnel assisted as well.
