Readers React: A mass killing without the mass hysteria

To the editor: The mass shooting on Sunday by a gunman in Michigan targeting people at random raises many questions. (“Passenger says he warned Uber of erratic driver before Kalamazoo killings began,” Feb. 22)
It raises the question as to why The Times buried this story near the end of its main section. It raises the question as to why conservatives aren’t whipping up the public with hysterical calls to ban an entire class of people from entry into this country.
Where are the reflexive outcries that this act of terrorism was all due to President Obama’s lack of leadership? Could it be that the answer to all of these questions is that it’s the same old story of, allegedly, a white native-born American shooter who certainly wasn’t a member of a well regulated militia?
