Cops continue coffee mixer with the public
The Laguna Beach Police Department will hold its second Coffee with a Cop session at the city’s farmers market Aug. 1.
Residents can interact with officers over a free cup of coffee in a relaxed setting, according to a news release.
“Since the majority of contacts that officers make are during emergency situations, this is not always the most effective time for relationship building with the community,” the release says.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at 521 Forest Ave.
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
