Letters: Abortion and the GOP agenda

Re “House passes bill to restrict abortion,” June 19
Members of the House believe that I as a woman need protection, so they get to decide when I can terminate a pregnancy that I do not wish to continue and apparently have no problem with the National Security Agency tracking my calls and Internet usage or with the FBI using unmanned aerial drones for surveillance.
But I can buy an assault weapon at a gun show without anybody required to check my sanity, and I don’t have to register that weapon since Republicans believe doing so is an infringement on my rights.
Seems perfectly reasonable.

Once again we see that House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and his Republican majority have no regard for Boehner’s pronouncement that the agenda of the House is “jobs, jobs, jobs.”
Instead, they are swamped by their real agenda, which includes dismantling healthcare for women, passing unconstitutional abortion laws and repeatedly voting to repeal Obamacare.
To Republicans, access to healthcare and safe abortions should be only for the rich. For the rest of us, it’s the back alley.
