Andrea Mead Lawrence memorial service scheduled

A memorial for Andrea Mead Lawrence, an Olympic skiing champion who became a leading conservationist in the Eastern Sierra, will be held at 6 p.m. April 19 at the Mammoth Mountain conference center, 1 Minaret Road, Mammoth Lakes.
Lawrence, 76, died of cancer March 30.
Instead of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Andrea Lawrence Institute for Mountains and Rivers, www.alimar.org.
