Reader Photo: Through the shadows
During the photographer’s golden hour, David Patrick Valera likes to seek out spaces with shadows and shapes to add dynamism to his photos.
At a KCRW event in Chinatown, he found his perfect spot in front of a yellow gate, and waited until the right subject walked into his frame. As he was hitting the shutter, the shadow of another person entered his field of vision.
“It completed the shot,†he said.
Valera made this photo using a Sony A7camera with a Lecia 35mm Summicron lens.
