Reader Photo: High noon on the river
Photographer Kevin Balluff captured this photo of the L.A. River from the 1st Street bridge, looking south.
Balluff said the frame stood out to him: the receding lines of the concrete channel and the embankments and power lines crossed by the bridges downriver. The sun was high overhead, which flattened the shadows in the frame.
“It felt very ‘urban L.A. summertime,’” Balluff said.
Balluff used a Nikon D7000 to make the image.
