Reader Photo: Brake if you love time lapse photos

Joshua Tree is a popular place to shoot time lapse photos and we can definitely see why -- less light pollution, beautiful skies and lots of time to get the right camera settings to capture that feeling of camping under the stars.

Time lapses are also great for having unplanned, but beautiful things happen to a photo. This photo of the night sky and a fire-red yucca palm, taken by Suzanne Danziger, wasn’t originally supposed to look like this.

“I was shooting a time lapse sequence of the night sky at Keys View when the brake lights of a passing car cast a red glow on the Joshua Tree in the foreground of my shot,†wrote Danziger in an email.
