Anaheim man killed when he falls in front of bus
A 45-year-old Anaheim man died after he fell backward from a sidewalk and was struck by an Orange County Transportation Authority bus, authorities said Monday.
The incident occurred Sunday about 6 p.m. on Beach Boulevard north of McFadden Avenue in Midway City, an unincorporated community in central Orange County.
The man’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, said California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Barton.
The bus driver had parked at the curb after making a stop and waited approximately 15 seconds before pulling into traffic, Barton said. The man fell backward onto Beach Boulevard as the bus was pulling out, he said.
The man was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead.
