Five hikers missing in Eaton Canyon; search begins
- Share via
Los Angeles County firefighters are looking for five hikers in Altadena’s Eaton Canyon park who haven’t been heard from since Thursday morning.
A parent of one of the hikers notified authorities before 8:30 a.m. Friday that the person had not been heard from. The hikers are all in their 20s, an L.A. County Fire official said. The department has sent out a helicopter to fly over the canyon and look for the group.
The group set out for their hike Thursday morning. It was not immediately clear if they planned on staying in the area overnight or where they were last seen.
One girl was killed and another person airlifted out of Eaton Canyon last month.
