Long Beach police on Wednesday were investigating the death of a woman who was found stabbed on a sidewalk, officials said.
Authorities said they found the woman unconscious in the 5500 block of Long Beach Boulevard after responding to a battery call around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday
The woman had been stabbed in the upper body, according to Long Beach Police Department Lt. Mark Coble. Officers performed “lifesaving measures” until paramedics arrived, he said.
She was pronounced dead at a hospital. Her name was not being released until her family was notified, but police said she was about 25 years old.
Long Beach detectives were searching for a person of interest in the case, and the motive was under investigation, Coble said.
